Foreword: Voices from Research: Challenges in Health, Education, and Social Work
Synopsis
Conducting research in the fields of health, education, and social work today entails a twofold responsibility: on the one hand, producing knowledge with methodological rigor, conceptual and theoretical soundness, and analytical clarity; and, on the other, establishing a genuine connection with the social problems present in everyday life that directly affect people's well-being. In a context marked by accelerated transformations, persistent inequalities, and new forms of vulnerability and violence, academic research cannot be confined to the mere accumulation of data or the validation of intradisciplinary knowledge; rather, it is compelled to engage in dialogue with social reality and to offer frameworks of understanding that can guide social intervention and decision-making.
